Fairway Chalet

Tarpon Springs, on Florida's Gulf coast in northern Pinellas County, is known nationally for its sponge docks and the Greek immigrant community that settled there over a century ago to work the sponge trade. Fairway Chalet, on Virginia Avenue, is licensed for 14 beds, a small-community size that generally allows for more than one shared common room while remaining far smaller than the county's large campuses. The city's historic character and walkable downtown set it apart from much of the rest of Pinellas County's more suburban stretches. A good question for families is whether residents have any opportunity to visit the sponge docks or downtown area as part of the facility's routine.
