Shorecrest Gardens

Clermont built its reputation on hills unusual for Florida and on the National Training Center that has drawn triathletes and cyclists to town, giving Lake County's citrus-ridge terrain an athletic, outdoorsy reputation among newer residents. Shorecrest Gardens, licensed for six residents on Shorecrest Circle, is small enough to run more like a private home than a facility, with one core group of caregivers responsible for the household rather than rotating shift teams. Lake County's chain of interconnected lakes gives many neighborhoods water views, and the area has drawn a steady stream of retirees from both Central Florida cities and out of state. At six beds, individual attention tends to be higher than at larger communities, though the tradeoff is a smaller staff to cover illness or time off. A fair question on a visit is how the home handles medical appointments that require transportation off-site.
